Pune (Maharashtra) [India]: Pune-based artist Bhagyashree Godbole has received the prestigious ‘Manikarnika Amrita Sher-Gil Kala Puraskar’, named after the talented artist of the 20th century, Amrita Sher-Gil. In the painting competition held by Manikarnika Art Gallery in Jhansi, 1800 artworks were sent from all over India out of which artworks of 120 artists were selected for the final competition. Bhagyashri had submitted five artwork out of which two artworks were selected which were in the form of miniature paintings in acrylic type. She received a Silver Medal and a Certificate of Appreciation.
Bhagyashree Godbole who is a classical singer also, has held 13 solo exhibitions of Radhakrishna miniatures so far and has also composed ‘Bandish’ on all the paintings. She has won many national and international level competitions. Bhagyashree is a successful entrepreneur and works in all fields of art such as poetry, writing, music composition, singing etc.
