She is a Marwari who was born and brought up in Guwahati. A graduate of Guwahati Commerce College, she is an avid reader, who loves to drive and vibe with music. She is extremely passionate about her painting, and cooking. An extrovert by nature, she gets her energy from meeting new people and exploring new places. It wasn’t always so. She has a very interesting journey. A reel transition is popular, but she is the prime example of a real transition. She transformed from a ghungat and patriarchy dominated housewife to a blogger, a content creator, a PR and an Entrepreneur. Having an unconventional childhood because of medical issues at home, she was very naive, innocent and simple. She lived her life in the kitchen and had a dream to become the Masterchef of India. She thought she was happy with the kitchen experimenting while being subjected to conventional patriarchy and misogyny. But life had other plans for her. It took an opposite turn for her and she stumbled into social media via a contest. It was where she won, earned something because of her own merit.
Not as a daughter or wife, but as a chef. It was her good pictures that kick-started her journey. In the course of becoming a content creator, a PR, and an entrepreneur, she has had a difficult journey. The journey through taxing and toxic has been extremely rewarding and fulfilling. It wasn’t an easy ride for a simple homemaker who thought her world was her kitchen. She brings respect to the hearts for coming a long way, fighting patriarchy, conservative thoughts and lack of self-belief. This was a long journey of over 7 years. More often than not, fighting the world seemed strenuous to her. She would want to give up. But everytime she was told she couldn’t do this, she would use the broken pieces of her self esteem to push her forward. She wanted to show and prove that a woman was enough. She could do what she wanted to. When asked how she feels about her journey, she says, “I would not say I am living the life that I dreamt for. But yes I can say I am happy, I am proud of what I have earned and worked for in the last few years.
My most inspiring moment was when I received a call from ET now Swadesh channel for an interview as a blogger.” She further says,” That was the moment when I truly feel proud of myself that I did it, I broke the barriers, I flung open the veil and I am going to be live on the national channel as me. It is a dream which everyone wants to achieve. Though it happened to me sooner than I had thought, I wasn’t expecting it so soon. “There was a time when I used to break down, question my being, even though I can’t share the incident, but it was the most difficult phase of my life. I relied on faith and God was there with me and that incident made me very strong.
Strong enough that today I can deal with every situation. Difficult times lead us to be very strong in life. And this is the truth of my life.”I would like to inspire all the homemakers to do something in life, you don’t have to go out. You just have to see your talent and believe me we all have something unique in ourselves we just need to find it out and work on it. And I can assure you it gives a very different and beautiful feeling when you are financially independent.
